The World of CacklePatch

With a single sip of a mysterious purple potion, CacklePatch transformed into the Spirit of Halloween forevermore. On the outside, he still looks like any other raccoon. Only his eyes hint at his true nature—they gleam pumpkin orange. Of course, the top hat and long black coat he favors (that he procured through “raccoon ingenuity”) are also hints, if only to the very perceptive.

Legend has it that Astari was born beneath a lucky star, but it was really a radiant comet that blazed through the heavens at the exact moment of her birth. It rained a trail of shimmering, silver stardust that is said to have blessed her with gifts both rare and wondrous. She often wears a vial of this precious stardust around her neck, a keepsake that she treasures above all else. 

Did you know the planet Venus rotates in the opposite direction of most other planets? On Venus, the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. And it spins so slowly, that one day on Venus is longer than its year. That is to say, everything is a bit backwards on Venus and that’s why it is such a very fitting name for an odd little bat who does odd little things.
